The current year's starts from seed are doing very well so far, with over 300 plants sprouted.
We cleared more of the shaded area next to the road and transplanted twenty-six of the tea plants purchased from the Minto Tea Company interspersed with the same number of tea plants we have grown from seed. We now have 80 multi-year transplants.
The Minto plants were in cone-tainers and transplanted very easily as they only needed a hole that was a bit over five inches deep. My plants that wintered over in the insulated box grew in poly bags and they needed holes that were over fourteen inches deep. Much more tiresome to transplant.
We had a visit from a pair of barred owls and one of their children while transplanting.
