We've had pretty pleasant weather this summer, although drier than what we would like considering the wildfires on the West Coast. Still, the weeds are growing like weeds and we are spending a lot of time trying to keep them under control. I think I need to invest in some substantial multi-year weed block material!

Even with that never-ending battle, we are managing to get a few new things accomplished. We've added the four new solar panels.

Our first attempt at growing hops seems to be doing well as they are over eleven feet tall already.

We started building a second aquaponics system. It may turn out to be a summer only system. But we did want to transfer all of the fish over to it temporarily in order to clean out the original system and perform some maintenance before winter weather sets in once more. It will still take some weeks before it is close to startup.

We once again participated in the Freeknock frisbee event at Tom's & Sheila's farm this year and are looking forward to the croquet event that will likely take place in September.
