A few elk came by again last night to slurp up any fallen apples …

The second day of the year was also pleasant so we ventured out for a few activities. We spent a bit of time collecting resin from a fallen Doug Fir that had been damaged sometime in the past.

From there we cut a path across the top section of the ridge, following our iPad’s GPS, and quickly sited a survey point not far off our property line.

After cutting our way along the hillside through some denser underbrush we fairly easily found survey plates and posts near the property point we were seeking, again due to the recent survey.
Poking around did not reveal the iron pipe so we resorted to using the survey placards attached to two bearing trees and found it several minutes later buried in a fern. Two down, six to go …
