Truffle Tree Experiment - Given the problems associated with accurate measurements, the time span of the experiment was short and therefore the conclusions reached are somewhat tentative. It does appear that the Flame Treatment (using a propane torch to keeps the weeds down) allows the largest increase in tree size (height and caliper). The Douglas Fir Mulch allows almost similar incrases while the Landscape Fabric, in both cases (height and caliper increases) had smaller increases in size. Of course, the Landscape Fabric is also the method that requires the least amount of work and the largest expense (at least in the short term) :) | LANDSCAPE FABRIC TREATMENT: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
