Low Temperatures

With night temperatures as low as 14 degrees, my water temps are again too cold. Although I have no heater in the Aqua house, the air temperature has never been below freezing since adding the second layer of plastic film along with a squirrel cage fan to inflate it. However, the temperature has been close to freezing, and with water temps below 50 degrees, growth is very, very slow.
As the plants are growing so slowly, they start to die off, leaves rot, etc. Messy and no fun! Given the number of overcast days compared to sunny days in the winter in my area (Central Oregon Coast), and the low temps, I'm guessing I should have at least three, possibly four times the solar water heater panel area to heat my current volume of water. Right now the panels are oriented due south so they are less efficient to either side of local noon. A passive method to have them follow the sun would help a lot ... maybe a project for next summer :-). Given the hills and trees surrounding me, I would likely only need about 60 degrees of rotation.
As mentioned previously I do track the inside, outside and water temperatures once every minute, and retain the history. Although that is easily available to me, I haven't yet set it up to be available on the website, but hope to do so this year.
