Seedling Damage and Fallen Trees

Our neighbor's cows decided to give their field fence the slip and meander down to our property which is over a mile away. Unfortunately, I didn't discover them quickly enough. They trampled some of the in-ground tea, but did the most damage to the seedlings in tubes under 'King Edward' (our 200 foot Doug Fir by the barn). We have deer and elk wander through the property numerous times throughout the year. Neither the deer nor the elk have shown any interest in the tea. Even when the ground is covered in snow, the elk haven't bothered the tea. The cows, on the other hand, seem to think the tea is a tasty dessert. I've twice run around the property chasing them after dark. Great cardio!!!
Some hunters were coming through shortly after dark and found a couple downed trees just down the road from our house. Since they didn't have a chainsaw, we helped them get the trees cut and moved enough to let them pass. I finished cutting up the rest of the trees that were in the road the next day. There are still some large sections just off the road that can wait for a bit dryer weather.
