As expected, the raspberry hard cider did not clear before bottling. We have attempted to make it fizzy by adding some sugar just before bottling. Stephanie made a great elk with herb dumplings that day as well!

As the chance of freezing weather has diminished, we moved the tea seedling back out of the 'temporary' hoop house at the end of the barn, and back under King Edward (you may recall that it is the large fir tree next to the barn). Before placing them there, we gave them all a bath in the outdoor trough to make sure the narrow grow tubes are not drying out.

We also had some issues with our spring water. That was due to not keeping a close eye on the sediment buildup in the top collection tank. The sand and gravel had accumulated to an average depth of about a foot. That caused a fair amount of it to be washed down the pipe and into the filters which was causing them to clog very quickly. It took several days of draining the tank and washing the sediment out from the top to get it working. The top access hole is not large enough to allow a person to climb inside, so we could only spray water down on the sediment and slowly wash it out the bottom pipe hole.
