As we had a number of lithium batteries gifted to us, we decided to adapt some of them to the task of backing up our internet connection in the event of a grid power failure. We are currently (no pun intended) charging the batteries and adding ten of them in parallel as each battery gets fully charged. The batteries are locatd in the barn. An inverter and a switch will allow easy changeover from grid p[ower to battery power. These ten 40aH batteries will power the satellite dish and modem, a switch part way down to the satellite dish, a router where the line enters the barn, and a switch to power the line up to the house several hundred feet away. I estimate about 44 hours of capacity after measureing the wattage in use.

The satellite dish was placed down in the field near the creek in order to get a clear enough view of the sky towards the north. I also placed the dish on top of a 20 foot irrrigation metal pipe in order to keep the elk from occasionally knocking it over as had happened twice before. The white pipes on the ground are protecting the line from the modem to the dish until I can get a trencher to bury it. The modem is housed in an elevated box with power and lan lines running uderground to a box by the solar panels, then underground to the barn.
