Chanterelles & Navajo Tea

First batch of chanterelles picked just down the road from us. I also harvested some of the Greenthred to dry and eventually make into tea.

We picked more chanterelles with (shown in pic) Nick, Elke, Stephanie and Gabe from the hillside next to the driveway. I was a little disappointed with the mushroom harvests so far this year. Seems we kept hitting them when they were too dry or too wet.
Afterwards we decided to try brewing up some of the Greenthread. None of us had tried it before so we were all curious ... and we had lots of other tea on hand if it turned out to be less than desirable. As it turned out, we all liked it and were quite happy with the flavor! The first pic below is when It was first placed in the water, the second pic at about five minutes of simmering, and the last pic was the second simmering we did so we could all enjoy a second cup. Like sinensis tea, this Greenthred lends itself to multiple "steepings" and retains a lot of flavor and no bitterness.
