Mushroom Logs, Sensor Relay

Stephanie and I got into the back field and cut up the fallen Alder trees on which we will grow shiitake mushrooms. The number of previously cut trees was really close to the desired number of bolts we wanted to start this year. It was still a bit muddy climbing the bank of the creek with a load of logs. But the tractor has four wheel drive and only endured a bit of slipping and sliding to made it back across.
Some were a bit too stubborn to just fall down nicely.

We stacked the bolts under 'King Edward' (our 200' plus tall Doug Fir) where we will inoculate them. You might notice that the racks of tea seedlings behind the bolts are threatening to collapse. So it is yet another busy-work project that will need attending quite soon.

I did get in a new receiver for our wireless sensors, a relatively inexpensive Htzsafe consumer product with about a half mile max range. This one has four relays that are activated by the motion sensors and the relay addition is another project I've been meaning to accomplish for a few years. As I haven't managed to build my own system yet, when I found this receiver with relays I hoped it would ease my setup. The relays will be hooked up to LED lights, which they can activate directly, to turn on when there is motion from any one of the four sensors. The only other item needed was a photoelectric cell from Home Depot to only allow the lights to activate at night. I'll let you know how it works when ... if, I get it set up .
